Mega Millions Jackpot Grows to $92 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The largest jackpot in America is growing even larger. Mega Millions players from coast to coast won a total of $4,388,132 in Friday's drawing. There were 484,449 tickets that won prizes ranging from $2 up to $175,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, January 11, 2005 drawing grows to $92 million.

The winning numbers for Friday, January 7, 2005 were: 02-08-14-15-51 and the Mega Ball number was 38. Eleven tickets came close to winning the jackpot in Friday's drawing. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number to each win $175,000. The tickets were sold in Illinois (2), Maryland (1), Michigan (1), New Jersey (1), New York (1), Texas (2), Virginia (1) and Washington (2). There were also 36 tickets that matched 4 numbers plus the Mega Ball number to each win $5,000.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
