Mega Millions Jackpot Grows to $88 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Tuesday, July 5 Mega Millions drawing really brought out the winners! A total of 477,608 tickets from coast to coast won Mega Millions prizes. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the Mega Millions jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Friday, July 8, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $88 million.

Tuesday's winning numbers were: 22-38-48-50-55 and the Mega Ball number was 29.

Three tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were sold in California and one in New Jersey.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
