Mega Millions Jackpot Grows to $43 Million

A total of 434,335 tickets were winners in the Tuesday, December 13 Mega Millions drawing. But no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot. So the jackpot for the Friday, December 16, 2005 drawing grows to an estimated $43 million. The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 9-10-12-22-41 and the Mega Ball number was 4. Here is a complete breakdown of the winning tickets:

Six tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those six tickets were purchased in California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan and New York.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
