Mega Millions jackpot grows to $122 million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mega Millions jackpot is generating excitement in 2007. The Friday, January 5th Mega Millions drawing produced a total of 903,313 winning tickets from coast to coast. Those prizes included six tickets that each won $250,000. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $102 million jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, January 9, 2007 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $122 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 2-12-44-46-51 and the Mega Ball number was 6.

The six tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (2), Michigan (1), New Jersey (1) and Ohio (2).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
