Mega Millions Jackpot Grows

UNITED STATES -– (PRESS RELEASE) -- The excitement level is growing in Mega Millions and so is the number of winners. In Friday's Mega Millions drawing, a total of 505,154 tickets won prizes, including 6 tickets that each won $250,000. But no ticket matched all six numbers to win the $53 million jackpot. So the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, October 11, 2005 drawing grows to $65 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 02-04-23-27-36 and the Mega Ball number was 37.

Those 6 tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Three of those tickets were purchased in New York, two in Ohio and one in Virginia.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
