Mega Millions Jackpot Grow to $42 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Even though there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. In fact, Mega Millions players from coast to coast won more than $2 million. That includes three tickets that each won $175,000 and 23 tickets that each won $5,000. Now the estimated jackpot grows to $42 million for the Friday, May 13, 2005 drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 11-25-38-40-42 and the Mega Ball number was 40.

The holders of those three tickets can say they came VERY close to winning it all. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number to each win $175,000. Two of those tickets were sold in Georgia and the other one in Maryland

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun later this year.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
