Mega Millions Jackpot at $16 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The jackpot is growing once again in Mega Millions. Less than a week after a ticket sold in Anaheim, California won an estimated $315 million jackpot, Mega Millions excitement is building. A total of 457,021 tickets from coast to coast were winners in the Friday, November 18 drawing, including one ticket that won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the Tuesday, November 22, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $16 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 08-18-21-42-46 and the Mega Ball number was 11.

Pari-mutuel prizes means that prize amounts vary with the number of tickets sold and the number of winning tickets in each prize category.

The 1 ticket that won $250,000 came within a heartbeat of winning it all. The ticket matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. That ticket was purchased in Ohio.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
