Mega Millions Grow to $23 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Players from coast to coast are feeling the excitement of Mega Millions. A total of 350,763 tickets were winners in the Friday, September 23, 2005 drawing. But no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $15 million jackpot, so the jackpot grows to an estimated $23 million for the Tuesday, September 27, 2005 drawing.

Four tickets came within one number of hitting the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (1), New Jersey (1) and Texas (2).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
