Mega Million jackpot rises to $81 million

UNITED STATES –- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Tuesday, May 1 Mega Millions drawing really brought out the winners! A total of 490,175 tickets from coast to coast won Mega Millions prizes, including four tickets that each won $250,000. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $69 million jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Friday, May 4, 2007 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $81 million.

Those four tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. The tickets were purchased in California, Illinois (2) and Texas.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 11-16-31-52-53 and the Mega Ball number was 42.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
