Mega Million Jackpot Rises to $68 Million

UNITED STATES -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Countless Mega Millions players from coast to coast had their eyes on the prize in the Friday, March 17, 2006 drawing. A total of 636,538 tickets won prizes, including three tickets that won $250,000. No ticket matched all six numbers to win Friday's jackpot, so the jackpot for the Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $68 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 08-11-23-48-52 and the Mega Ball number was 05

The three tickets that won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Illinois, Ohio and Texas.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
