Mega Million Jackpot Rises to $62 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- With the largest jackpot in North America, the excitement is growing in Mega Millions! A total of 480,404 tickets from coast to coast were winners in the Tuesday, June 28, 2005 drawing. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $52 million jackpot, that jackpot now grows to an estimated $63 million for the Friday, July 1, 2005 drawing.

The winning numbers were 02-20-37-43-46 and the Mega Ball was 04.

Four tickets came within a heartbeat of hitting the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in California, Michigan, New Jersey and Washington. Each of those tickets wins $250,000, except in California, where prizes are pari-mutuel by state law.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
