Mega Million Jackpot Rises to $32 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The excitement is growing in Mega Millions. The Tuesday, August 2 drawing produced a total of 394,586 winning tickets from coast to coast. That includes one ticket that won $250,000. No ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, so the jackpot for the Friday, August 5, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $32 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 17-22-39-50-52 and the Mega Ball number was 46.

One ticket nearly won the jackpot. It matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. That ticket, which was purchased in New Jersey, wins $250,000.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
