Mega Million Jackpot Rises to $131 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The largest jackpot in the nation is growing even larger and Mega Millions players are the winners! A total of 762,366 tickets won prizes in the August 30, 2005 drawing, including five tickets that came within just one number of hitting the jackpot. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the excitement continues to grow for the Friday, September 2, 2005 drawing, which will have an estimated jackpot of $131 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 19-32-42-49-56 and the Mega Ball number was 29.

The five tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Illinois (1), Massachusetts (1), Michigan (1) and New Jersey (2).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
