Mega Million Jackpot Rises to $126 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mega Millions game is certainly living up to its name. In fact, there were so many winners in the Friday, November 12 drawing that more than $4.9 million was won by Mega Millions players. But none of those tickets matched all six numbers to win the jackpot. So the jackpot for the Tuesday, November 16, 2004 drawing rolls to an estimated $126 million.

Nine tickets came very, very close to winning that jackpot. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. For that they win $175,000. Three of those tickets were sold in New York and two each Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia. There were also 46 tickets that each won $5,000 for matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball number. Friday's winning numbers were 05-31-33-35-51 and the Mega Ball was 01. Mega Millions players won a total of $4,929,497 in Friday's drawing.
