Mega Million Jackpot Reaches $57 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing turned a total of 345,622 tickets into winners. These tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $175,000. Mega Millions players won a total of $2,370,325 in prizes. Since no one matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the estimated jackpot for the Friday, October 29, 2004 drawing advances to $57 million.

The winning numbers for Tuesday, October 26, 2004 were: 14-25-39-43-49 and the Mega Ball number was 27. There were four tickets that each won $175,000 in Tuesday's drawing. They did so by matching the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. These tickets were sold in Georgia, New Jersey, and two were sold in New York. There were also 29 tickets that matched 4 numbers plus the Mega Ball number to each win $5,000.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
