Mega Million Jackpot Reaches $25 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- No ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, so the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, February 1, 2005 drawing advances to $25 million. Players throughout the 11 participating states won a total of $1,626,903 in Friday's drawing. There were 264,302 tickets that won prizes ranging from $2 up to $175,000.

The winning numbers in the Friday, January 28, 2005 drawing were: 25-31- 39-47-52 and the Mega Ball number was 43.

Two tickets came close to winning the jackpot in Friday's drawing. Each of these tickets matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number to win $175,000. The two tickets were sold in Georgia (1) and Texas (1). There were also 21 tickets that matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball number to each win $5,000.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
