Mega Million Jackpot Grows to $85 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing really brought out the winners! A total of 427,757 tickets in eleven states won prizes ranging from $2 to $175,000. Although no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $71 million jackpot, four tickets each won $175,000 and 36 tickets each won $5,000. Now the excitement continues to grow as the jackpot for the Friday, June 11, 2004 Mega Millions drawing is an estimated $85 million.

The winning numbers in the Tuesday, June 8, 2004 drawing were: 17-24-29- 37-45 and the Mega Ball number was 43.

Those four tickets that each won $175,000 did so by coming within just one number of hitting the jackpot. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the last Mega Ball number. The tickets were sold in Illinois (1), New York (1), Texas (1), and Virginia (1).

Mega Millions players won a total of $2,855,904 in Tuesday's drawing.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington State. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
