Mega Million Jackpot Grows to $33 Million

UNITED STATES –- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The jackpot in Mega Millions is growing -- and there is no shortage of winners! A total of 389,974 tickets from coast to coast won prizes in the Friday, December 9, 2005 drawing. That includes three tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the Tuesday, December 13 drawing grows to an estimated $33 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 14-15-31-32-43 and the Mega Ball number was 20.

The three tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were purchased in Georgia and the other one was purchased in Ohio.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
