Massachusetts official: Casinos are inevitable23 May 2008MASSACHUSETTS -- As reported by the Boston Herald: "Massachusetts State Treasurer Tim Cahill said earlier today that someday, somehow, casinos will open for business in the Bay State. "'It just seems inevitable,' he told a group of Boston-area business leaders at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting. "...But, he added, 'It is important to do them right, because if we do it wrong, the state has a legacy of gambling.' "To that end, he's been keeping a close eye on Singapore, where two massive casino projects are under way. "...Cahill said he also likes components of Connecticut's two all-inclusive casinos, which provide visitors with an array of services in off-the-beaten-path locations..." |
