Maryland county approves slots parlor22 December 2009ANNAPOLIS, Maryland -- The Anne Arundel County Council Monday approved zoning that will allow a slots parlor to be build at Arundel Mills, according to The (Baltimore) Sun. The Council also passed a bill that would allow slots at the Laurel Park racetrack, but that measure will likely be vetoed by County Executive John R. Leopold, the Sun reports. Hundreds of slots opponents and supporters filled the county's chambers in anticipation of the vote. Slots opponents have vowed to put the issue up for a ballot initiative. |
