Marker Trax and Koin Payments promote top leaders

9 April 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Gaming industry trailblazers Marker Trax and Koin Payments, both founded by Las Vegas and gaming industry leader Gary Ellis, have promoted two key executives, both of whom have led their respective organizations and guided their dramatic growth. Charlie Skinner is now president at Marker Trax, while Gary Larkin holds the same position at Koin.

Aside from Ellis’ role as founder and CEO of both Las Vegas-based companies, Marker Trax and Koin share a vision of shaping the evolution of gaming’s growing cashless tech sector. Marker Trax is the industry’s first cashless casino marker provider, while Koin’s visionary digital payment network provides gaming patrons the convenience of cashless payments anywhere, anytime, in or outside the casino.

Industry veteran Skinner assumes his new role as president of Marker Trax after serving as the company’s chief operating officer since its founding in 2018. Along with a two-decade career as a gaming executive for companies including International Game Technology (IGT), United Coin Machine Co. and Red Rock Resorts, he was on the ground floor of Marker Trax’ growth as a sector leader, working with Ellis from the beginning to realize the vision of bringing cashless credit solutions to the gaming industry for the first time.

A seasoned and highly respected executive with decades of payment industry experience, Larkin assumes the role of president at Koin, having played an instrumental role thus far in driving the adoption and growth of cashless payment solutions on a global basis. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for the design, development, and implementation of numerous payment industry initiatives. Before joining Koin, he was president of TNS Payment Systems, Inc., and founded Debit Plus, LLC and EPOINT Payment Corp., leading these companies as they provided transformative digital payment solutions throughout Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, South East Asia, Australasia and the North and Central American markets.

“The future of our industry is cashless, and Charlie and Gary are the perfect ambassadors to lead us into that future,” said Ellis. “Being involved with both companies from the beginning, and with decades of industry experience between them, they’ve had a monumental impact thus far, and I have every confidence they’ll flourish in their new leadership roles.”

Founded in 2018, Marker Trax was envisioned by Ellis as a unique way to bring cashless credit into the gaming landscape. And since February 2021, Koin has been the preferred digital payments platform of the gaming industry.

Skinner, a part of Marker Trax since its inception, is excited about the future.

“We’re bringing more and more operators and players into the cashless fold every day, and I’m excited to continue to work with Gary as our two companies move forward together,” said Skinner.

Larkin echoed those sentiments, adding: “From the beginning, Koin and Marker Trax have naturally evolved together. Charlie and I are committed to continuing that shared growth.”

Marker Trax’ innovative technology provides instant digital casino marker funds to casino customers, and ensures those funds stay on-site and are paid, greatly reducing operator risk. Simultaneously, players benefit from a seamless, convenient approval process and revolutionary digital funding and payment mechanisms. Koin provides patrons the ability to fund their resort and gaming activities from a variety of options in their digital wallet, including ACH transfer, debit cards, Marker Trax funds, and others.
