Manitobans Most Vulnerable to Gambling Problems

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – As reported by the CBC: "Manitobans who play casinos and video lottery terminals are the most likely in Canada to have gambling problems, according to new numbers from Statistics Canada.

"About 9.4 per cent of people who gamble in Manitoba have some type of gambling problem or are at risk of developing one.

"…Quebec had the lowest rate of problem gamblers, with less than half of Manitoba's number.

"Scott Smith, the minister responsible for gaming in Manitoba, said education is the key to preventing gambling problems…"
