Mandalay, Stephens and Park Place Join Forces to Create New LasVegas.com

The newly configured site, using one of the top ten Internet search terms (ranked by The Lycos 50, Lycos: 2002, is expected to debut by the end of 2002, making it easier than ever for visitors to plan a Las Vegas getaway with air, hotel and car rental reservations. Online marketing opportunities will be designed to attract the widest range of Las Vegas hotel room and travel providers, including those that are independent of the Mandalay and Park Place organizations.

Under the agreement, Mandalay and Park Place have created a jointly operated and equally owned company, LasVegas.com, LLC, that will exclusively license the LasVegas.com site from its owner, Stephens Media Group. The Las Vegas Review-Journal, the largest newspaper in Nevada, will continue to offer extensive community information and independent news to the site.

Rooms at many of the city's most popular resorts will be available on the site, including Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace, Luxor, Bally's, Excalibur, Paris, Circus Circus, Flamingo Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Hilton. In addition, the joint venture will invite other Las Vegas resorts to provide rooms on the site.

Mandalay Resort Group owns and operates 11 properties in Nevada: Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus, and Slots-A-Fun in Las Vegas; Circus Circus-Reno; Colorado Belle and Edgewater in Laughlin; Gold Strike and Nevada Landing in Jean and Railroad Pass in Henderson. The company also owns and operates Gold Strike, a hotel/casino in Tunica County, Mississippi. The company owns a 50% interest in Silver Legacy in Reno, and owns a 50% interest in and operates Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. In addition, the company owns a 50% interest in and operates Grand Victoria, a riverboat in Elgin, Illinois, and owns a 53.5% interest in and operates MotorCity in Detroit, Michigan.
