Malta blocks EU move to introduce match-fixing measure10 December 2012MALTA -- Malta voted against an EU attempt to introduce a measure to counter match-fixing, the Times of Malta reported. Malta feared other EU member states would use the measure to block access to their markets, the report said. Malta moved instead to protect its online gambling industry, saying it could not accept the measure without rewording the language and citing free movement of services, the Times of Malta reported.
