Malfunctioning keno machine causes trouble for bar

25 January 2016

ST. MARY, Nebraska -- Last October six or seven customers each won $500 on a keno machine one night in a small village bar, The Journal Star reported.

The next day the machine was shut down by Cass County Keno as it was deemed to have been malfunctioning, they then removed the machine entirely from the bar and have refused to pay out the winnings, the report said.

The machine repeated patterns of numbers and it's alleged savvy punter recorded the pattern and shared it with other customers, The Journal Star report said.

The state has carried out an investigation and the bar has suffered financially at the loss of its Keno machine and the customers have not received their winnings, the report noted.
