Malaysian Police Raid Two Gambling Dens, Arrest 37 People13 July 2004PORT KLANG, Malaysia -- As reported by the (Malaysia) Star: "Police raided two gambling dens off Jalan Pelabuhan here which were being run as a family entertainment outlet, following complaints that the premises were open until wee hours of the morning. "Three men who were managing the two dens and 34 customers, aged between 26 and 40, were arrested in the 3.30pm raid yesterday. Police also seized jackpot machines and other gaming machines valued at some RM292,000. "Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Abu Bakar Mustaffa said the raid was conducted with 17 CID officers. "...He said 51 gaming machines were seized in the first outlet at Jalan Cungkas while in the second outlet at Jalan Sekolah, 22 machines were confiscated..." |
