Malaysian Party May Shut Down Casino

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – As reported by the Agence France Presse: "Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) said yesterday it may shut down the country's only casino in the mountain resort of Genting if it wrests control of the area in the election.

"PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said he will consult residents in Pahang state - where Genting is located - about whether they want the casino to be closed.

"The hard-line party had boarded up gambling joints in the northern states of Kelantan and Terengganu after wresting political control of these areas from the ruling party…"
