Malaysian Casino Plan Proposed

MALAYSIA – As reported by the East Malaysian Daily Express: "A government backbencher today suggested that a casino be built in Sabah to develop the state's tourism industry and economy.

"Edmund Chong Ket Wah (BN-Batu Sapi) said the casino business was a profitable one which could provide job opportunities besides generating economic growth.

"…He said there were many examples of casinos bringing high profits like a casino in Las Vegas which reaped US$6.11 billion in profits a year…"
