Macau Delegates Return from Vegas Trip

MACAU – As reported by Ponto Final: "A delegation of members of Macau's legislature has returned from a fact-finding visit to Las Vegas, which included meetings with several casino operators and representatives of the all-powerful Nevada Gaming Control Board.

"The lawmakers met Sheldon Adelson, chairman of the board of Las Vegas Sands, the parent company of The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, which plans to open its first casino in Macau in the summer.

"…The delegation failed, however, to meet Steve Wynn, whose company is preparing the opening of new casinos both in Las Vegas and Macau.

"…The delegation also met Terry Lanni, chairman and chief executive officer of MGM Mirage, which owns and operatoes Bellagio and The Mirage in Las Vegas.

"…The legislators also attended a briefing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, whose members reiterated their well-known stance that any casino company from Las Vegas planning to open casinos in Macau had to stricly follow Nevada gaming-control standards or risk its licence in Las Vegas..."
