Macau: 100 held in prostitution swoop at Venetian10 December 2010HONG KONG AND MACAO -- Macau police arrested 122 women at the Venetian Macao casino in a prostitution crackdown, the Agence France Presse reported. The raid took place on Friday morning, and involved 70 officers, the report said. 122 Chinese women and 22 people understood to be controlling these women were taken into custody, according to the Agence France Presse. The Macau government is taking a strong stance on combatting the sex-trade in and around casinos, the report noted. |
