LVCVA OKs Land for Parking10 December 2003Las Vegas Sun LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will spend $1.57 million for five parcels totaling 1.15 acres adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall, the organization's board of directors agreed Tuesday. The LVCVA will use the land, acquired from Ad America Inc., Las Vegas, to develop more than 100 parking spaces and for a storage and marshalling area. The acquisition would help offset the loss of parking slots resulting from the construction of a monorail station at the convention center. The 100 parking slots would generate revenue for the LVCVA. The acquisition also will provide traffic access off Sierra Vista Road and the land parcels, which are at 486, 500, 552 and 560 Sierra Vista Road. The land parcels are between the South Hall and several apartment complexes. The agreement with Ad America would enable the real estate company to have access to cellular telephone towers.
