Lunar New Year celebration at Live! Casino Philadelphia

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia celebrates the Year of the Tiger with traditional festivities honoring Asian culture on 4 and 5 February 2022. The Tiger is the third animal in the Chinese Zodiac and is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness.

FESTIVAL – 4 and 5 February

A spectacular Lunar New Year Festival will be featured at Center Bar on Friday, 4 February from 7:00pm - Midnight; and Saturday, 5 February from 8:30pm - Midnight for all Live! Rewards Card members. From a Lucky Red Envelope promotion for a chance to win up to $1,000 Free Slot Play, to an evening filled with authentic performances, arts and crafts, and entertainment, the Festival will treat guests to fun and tradition including:

- Couplets written by Master Calligrapher
- Traditional Dragon Dance
- Chinese Musical Instruments
- Performance with Local Chinese Singers

“CAI QING” CEREMONY and LION DANCERS – 5 February only

On Saturday, 5 February at 8:00pm, Live! will present a traditional “Cai Qing” Ceremony (pronounced Chai Ching), a customary and visually stunning ritual, featuring the “picking of the greens” by the “Lion” to bless the New Year and bring prosperity.

Following the ceremony, the Lion Dancers and Live! executives will lead a rousing parade across the casino floor, handing out red envelopes to bring good luck to guests.

LUCKY 8 MENU AT LUK FU - 27 January - 6 February

From 27 January to 6 February, a unique dining experience is also part of the celebration at Luk Fu, which will feature a special LUCKY 8 menu complete with eight authentic dishes known to bring good luck, including:

- Abalone Herb Soup – abalone, black mushrooms, chicken feet
- Dry Scallops with Yellow Chives Soup – scallops, yellow chives, bamboo skin
- Stir Fried Duck Tongue with Yellow Chives in XO sauce – marinated duck tongue, yellow chives, XO sauce
- Braised Pig Feet with Lotus Roots – Asian herbal spice, red bean curd, Chinese celery
- Stir Fried Chinese Cauliflower and Pig Tongue – Chinese Five Spice, lotus roots, carrots
- Lobster – choose a style: steamed, ginger scallion or Hong Kong
- Steamed Whole Fish – ginger, scallion, sweet soy
- Sauteed Chinese Vegetable – stir fried with roasted whole garlic

The restaurant will also be decorated with traditional, festive Lunar New Year decor, including hanging lights and red lanterns, glowing moon centerpieces, tiger sculptures and more.
