Louisiana Treatment Programs Available

LOUISIANA – As reported by the Town Talk: "Louisiana's treatment programs work, but getting more addicts into the programs will take more partnerships, a state official says.

"Michael Duffy of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals estimated that 92 percent of the need for treatment is going unmet.

"… 'There's no way the state government can meet the needs that exist in this state as far as addiction,' Duffy told area providers in Pineville on Monday.

"…Suggestions included more materials to educate teenagers about the long-term health consequences of addictions.

"Many questions concerned the potential for federal funding for faith-based programs…"
