Louisiana riverboats: Casino revenue, admissions decline14 March 2011LOUISIANA -- Shreveport-Bossier City's riverboats saw revenue fall for fiscal year of 2010, according to the News Star. So far this year revenue has fallen 12 percent and admission has declined 11 percent compared to 2008 figures, the report said. Louisiana's high gambling tax and competition from Oklahoma casinos both present challenges to the Louisiana riverboat gambling industry, but the market is considered "stable", the News Star report made note. |
