Louisiana Pays for Gambling Addiction Treatment

BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "Compulsive gamblers in Mississippi are on their own when it comes to paying for treatment, but Louisiana picks up the tab for gambling addicts at in-patient treatment centers.

"A few years after Louisiana legalized gambling, its legislature diverted a portion of the state's casino revenues to fund the program. Last year, the state established a network to identify compulsive gamblers and get them into treatment…"
