Louisiana may tap gambler winnings for debts

27 June 2014

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana -- The state of Louisiana now confiscate gamblers winnings to pay off their debts, KTBS reported.

Gov. Bobby Jindal signed the legislation, which will see casinos declare winnings above $1200 and will permit recovery of money owed to state agencies, the report said.

All winnings above $1200 will face tax collection on them, the report noted.
