Louisiana House Votes Down Casino Age Hiring Limit14 April 2004LOUISIANA -- As reported by KATC3: `` The House of Representatives balked at a bill Tuesday that would require casino employees to be at least 21 years old, a proposal that prompted an impassioned speech about war, death and gambling. ``Representative Errol Romero, of New Iberia, said it was absurd for people under 21 to be able to join the military and go to war but not to work at a casino. ``He said Representative Danny Martiny's legislation would treat 18-, 19- and 20-year-olds like children…" |
