Louisiana Gaming Board Member Resigns

LOUISIANA – As reported by the Advocate: "Warren Eldridge Brown's stint as a member of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board lasted less than two weeks.

"The Governor's Office announced his resignation Monday, four days after announcing his July 25 appointment to the board that oversees gambling activities in the state.

"State law prohibits most members of the gambling board from engaging 'in any other form of public employment.'

"So Brown, 65, could not serve on the board and keep his job as chief investigator for the Ouachita Parish District Attorney's Office in Monroe.

"…Brown filled out an application for the Governor's Office that lists his current employment. He said he was unaware of the restrictions on working for the public sector…"
