Louisiana Casino Winnings Up Slightly18 November 2003NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – As reported by the Associated Press: "Gamblers lost $163.3 million at Louisiana's state-licensed casinos in October, up about 6 percent from a year ago, state police reported Tuesday. "The state's 14 riverboat casinos took in $124.1 million, up from $122.6 million in October 2002. Harrah's New Orleans Casino won $24.3 million, compared with $23.4 million a year ago. "The slot machine casinos at Delta Downs and Louisiana Downs won $14.9 million last month. "…The New Orleans area, which includes Harrah's and three riverboats, saw gamblers lose $47.8 million in October, up from $44.7 million in October 2002. The Baton Rouge market, which has two boats, won $14.6 million last month, compared with $14.5 million in October 2002…" |
