Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Rises to $16 Million

23 February 2005

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario – (PRESS RELEASE) -- LOTTO 6/49 continues to offer bigger jackpots more often, and tonight's draw is estimated at $16 million!

In just one week the jackpot has grown from $3.9 million offered on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 to tonight's big $16 million. Players can purchase tickets at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLGC) retailers until 9:00 p.m.

Ontarians win often, and win big with LOTTO 6/49. Since LOTTO 6/49 was launched in June 1982, Ontario players have won more than $6.7 billion in prizes including more than 1,010 jackpot wins.

LOTTO 6/49 is operated and managed in the province by OLGC, a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games, commercial and charitable casinos, and the operation and management of slot machine facilities at horse racing tracks. It is a provincial offence, punishable by fines, to sell OLGC lottery tickets to anyone under 18 years of age.
