Lottery winner dies penniless after heart attack from money worries

5 April 2010

ENGLAND -- A lottery winner died penniless and stressed over financial woes last week, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Kevin Gough won 9 million back in 2005 but blew every penny of it on drinking, gambling and being tricked by a financial scam, The Telegraph said.

Mr Gough, a former baker who quit his job when he scooped the prize, later said he regretted winning the lottery and it ruined his life, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Mr Gough was fondly remembered by friends and in particular the man who owned the newsagents where he purchased the lottery ticket, The Telegraph quoted.
