Lost Mississippi Casino Documents Found

MISSISSIPPI – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "Most of the lost documents that forced county officials to cancel a casino hearing last week have been found.

"Developers who want to build South Beach Casino and Resort near Clermont Harbor were scheduled to appeal the Planning Commission's denial to the Board of Supervisors last week.

"The appeal, however, was canceled because none of the public comments gathered at last year's Planning Commission hearing had been submitted.

"…Casino developers said they had several letters of support and Clermont Harbor residents claimed there were nearly 200 letters of opposition in the missing files.

"…If all of the documents are found, the board will likely reschedule an appeal hearing at its first meeting next month. If not, the case will be sent back to the Planning Commission to restart the process."
