Long shot Indiana bill would see restrictions on gambling lifted

19 January 2015

Indiana -- State Rep. Todd Huston has filed House Bill 1275 which lifts restrictions on "where gambling may occur".

The bill, among many things, "authorizes table games at racinos, changes "riverboat" references to "casino", repeals statutes specifically concerning riverboats, repeals the riverboat admissions tax and distribution of admissions tax revenue to municipalities and repeals the statute limiting the number of slot machines at a racino."

The bill would be effective July 1, 2024, but is considered a long shot with many hurdles to leap.
