Locals Get First Look at Proposed BC Casino17 February 2005FT. ST. JOHN, British Columbia – As reported by the Alaska Highway News: "Residents of Fort St. John had their first opportunity to view the plans of the proposed hotel, conference centre and gaming centre, during an open house with the developers on Tuesday evening. "On hand to meet with community members were co-developers Stuart Ramsay and Craig Briere, who also own the Treasure Cove Casino and Hotel in Prince George, as well as architect Charles Maddison and Fred Feddema, a regional manager with the B.C. Lottery Corporation's bingo division. "…The gaming centre would include up to 150 slot machines, a 250-seat bingo facility, and a 60-seat lounge. "…Other residents were concerned that the inclusion of slot machines would increase social problems in the community…" |
