Local employees donate needed supplies to Catoosa students10 May 2012CATOOSA, Okla. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Students at JW Sam Elementary School now have the school supplies they need to finish the school year, thanks to a recent donation from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa employees. The school received hundreds of basic necessities like glue, paper, pencils, crayons, markers and paper. “We have a huge need for school supplies for students who can't afford them, and with tight budgets, it’s hard to find funds to purchase them for students,” said Cindy Flannery, principal of JW Sam Elementary School. “The donation from Hard Rock Casino employees helps our students out a great deal.” Casino staff and corporate employees have collected school supplies for many schools over the past several years, contributing thousands of supplies to area students. “It is important that we all pitch in and help when needed, and buying schools supplies is such a small thing to us that can make a big difference to schools,” said Deborah Fritts, interpretive research coordinator for Cherokee Nation Entertainment. “I was happy to help.” |
