Lithuanian Parliament focuses on underage gambling in Addiction Prevention Meeting17 March 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- On 12 March, representatives from the Gambling Supervisory Authority – Arnoldas Dilba, Head of the Legislative Staff and General Affairs Division, and Olegas Mackevic, Senior Specialist (Psychologist) – participated in a meeting of the Seimas (Parliament) Addiction Prevention Commission (PPK) dedicated to the topic of problem gambling prevention. The meeting discussed the challenges faced in the field of gambling prevention, with particular emphasis on addressing the problem of minors' involvement in gambling. The representatives of the Gambling Supervisory Authority shared information about the measures implemented by the service in the field of problem gambling prevention, regulatory changes, progress, and challenges in working with both gambling operators and gamblers, changes in their attitudes towards gambling, and presented the results of studies conducted in 2016–2024 on the participation of Lithuanian residents in gambling and lotteries." |
