Les Ambassadeurs to host Party Poker Big Game IV

24 March 2010

GIBRALTAR -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Party Poker and Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce that the PartyPoker.com Big Game IV will take place at the Les Ambassadeurs club in Mayfair, London on April 11-13. The legendary cash game will take place at the prestigious venue for 48 hours straight!

Players already confirmed for the event include Team Party's Tony G, Premier League IV runner-up Luke "Full Flush" Schwartz, World Open V champion and Premier League hotshot Phil Laak, serial WSOP casher Isaac Haxton, Neil Channing, Laurence Grondin and Jennifer Tilly with more big names to follow, with the action to be screened on Five in the UK later in the year.

Tony G has offered to stake Isildur1, the mysterious online high stakes legend.

The Les Ambassadeurs club hosted the live Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge with great success in December 2009, and the luxurious Mayfair establishment is fast becoming London's premier gaming venue. The PartyPoker.com Big Game has become one of the most anticipated dates on the poker calendar and this year's tournament promises to be one of the highlights of 2010. It continues to be one of the most innovative tournaments and every two hours all eight players will nominate a player at the table and the tournament director will announce the player who is "evicted" from the table and replaced by a new face.

"We are delighted to be returning to Les A for the PartyPoker.Com Big Game IV" said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. "The event has become one of the most popular televised events in the calendar and this season looks to be the most exciting yet with a whole host of top names and the introduction of the all new player elimination process. Les A has become the central hub for high stakes poker in London and we are excited to be working with Craig and their team again."

"We have been in contact with Isildur1 and would love him to join the game - if he wants we will even make special arrangements so that he doesn't have to reveal his identity to anyone. We are quite happy to let him play wearing a mask or in disguise! "Tony G has even offered to back him, so come on Isildur1 – Tony may even lend you his Kermit the Frog outfit if you choose! We are very serious about this offer and look forward to hearing from him soon." Eddie Hearn issued a challenge to Isildur1 through his blog.

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said: "The Big Game is always one of the most popular dates in the calendar and the added twist of a player being evicted every two hours will definitely spice up the action. If you are a rock, you could find yourself as the weakest link! We looked at adding a trap door for the player to exit through but couldn't get it through health and safety!"

"Those of you who are saying that Neil Channing is a favourite for the first eviction are way off the mark. The opening line-up isn't set yet!"

The third edition of the tournament saw Andrew Feldman and Robert Williamson III walk away as the biggest winners in a field that included Roland De Wolfe, Ian Frazer, Juha Helppi and Barny Boatman, while the first two editions of the tournament included WSOP main event champion Jamie Gold, Brian Townsend, Tony G, Phil Hellmuth Chris Ferguson, Kenna James and Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott.
