Lennon Backs 'flawed' Betting Bill

TASMANIA -- As reported by the Courier-Mail: "The Tasmanian Government is backing its move to licence Betfair despite claims of more than 25 blotches in its online betting exchange legislation.

"Australian Racing Board (ARB) chief executive Andrew Harding said yesterday legal advice had identified more than 25 flaws, drafting errors, omissions and implementation problems in the bill.

"But Premier Paul Lennon has dismissed the claim as scaremongering, saying Tasmania would not "meekly submit" to opposition to the gambling exchange..."
