Legends Bay Casino makes the holiday season brighter

4 December 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- With the season of giving in full swing, Legends Bay Casino Resort has been busy uplifting the community with a variety of charitable activities. From a Thanksgiving Food Drive to an ongoing Toy Drive to the year-long kiosk round-up donation option on the casino floor, Legends Bay Casino is proud to support the community they call home.

A Legendary Food Drive
Helping to fight hunger in the community, Legends Bay Casino had a friendly competition among team members to collect food in support of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Broken into three teams Casino, Food and Beverage, and General and Administrative, each team was challenged to fill a barrel of non-perishable food items. When all was said and done, Legends Bay Casino exceeded its goals by filling five barrels with more than 1,485 food items for the local food bank. The food drive collected 1082 lbs. of food which equals up to 902 meals for the community. The donation helps provide hope to 140,000 children, seniors, veterans, and families in the region every month.

“The generosity of our team members and guests is inspiring and our collective efforts will truly make a difference in the community. While we all must do what we can, especially around the holidays, at Legends Bay Casino, we strive to help throughout the year.”

LBC Teams Up with Sparks FD for Toys for Tots
Collaborating with Sparks Fire Department, Legends Bay Casino is currently conducting a toy drive in support of Toys for Tots. From now through 11 December, Legends Bay Casino team members and guests are encouraged to bring a new and unwrapped toy to the Casino Cage or LB Rewards booth. Mindful that the most needed age groups are from 1-12 years old, donations of toys, games, action figures, sports equipment, books, art supplies, and more are encouraged.

Working locally in tandem with Sparks FD, Toys for Tots is a national program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with an overall mission to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas in hopes that the gift of a new toy helps bring the joy of Christmas and sends a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children.

LBC is Making Change for Charity
Legends Bay Casino is putting spare change to good use through its cash-out redemption kiosks. When guests cash out a ticket, they are given the option to donate the spare change to one of four local charities. Since the program was first introduced at LBC in late February 2023, the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Food Bank of Northern Nevada and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful have each received a portion of nearly $7,000 so far.
