Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Tribal Council temporarily closes four casinos18 March 2020(PRESS RELEASE) -- By unanimous vote of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Tribal Council, Leech Lake Gaming will be voluntarily and temporarily closing their four gaming operations, Cedar Lakes Casino Hotel, Northern Lights Casino Hotel, White Oak Casino, Shingobee on the Bay and Che We Office Supply which will go into effect at 4 p.m. this afternoon. The temporary closing will last at least through 1 April 2020. Before the reopening of the properties, all conditions and safety precautions will be thoroughly addressed before a final decision is made to reopen. Although there have not been any reported cases of the COVID-19 in Cass County or the surrounding counties, all preventative measures are being taken to ensure the safety of employees, guests and community members. “These are unprecedented times we are facing today. The gravity of this situation and the far reaching effects of closing our gaming operations weighs heavily on the minds of the Tribal Council” said Chairman Faron Jackson Sr. “We did not reach this decision lightly, but we have to protect the health of our community and closing these public sites will help to limit the spread of COVID-19. While the outlook for this pandemic remains very serious and critical, we still have a chance to slow and reduce the harmful effects on our people. This decision is part of those efforts.” Guests can keep informed on information regarding the Leech Lake Gaming properties by contacting our Call Center, Mondays-Fridays, 8am-4pm, at 844-554-2646, Gaming websites and Social Media. |
